1st day:


After arrival to Slovenia you will be taken to Idrija – an old medieval mining town, which takes pride in its numerous natural, cultural, historical and technical attractions. The town is situated in a basin surrounded by woods. In past the town was famous for its mercury mine which was the second biggest in the world. Idrija is furthermore famous for its with the three-hundred-year-old bobbin lace tradition. Slow Food dinner will be served after checking into the Kenda Manor. Accommodation and overnight in the Kenda Manor.
 

2nd day:


After breakfast we will visit the lace museum and you will be shown lace-making by hand – bobbin work. Then we will visit the mine – the oldest part of the mine underground called the Antonij shaft dating back to the year 1500 and an underground chapel from the 18th century, both open to tourists. After that we will visit the mining museum collection in the mighty castle Gewerkenegg. Lunch will be served in a rural inn; afterwards we will continue our trip towards Ajdovščina. Slow Food dinner will be served in the Zemono Mansion. Accommodation and overnight in the hotel in Nova Gorica.
 

3rd day:


After breakfast we will head for Goriška Brda, an idyllic hilly countryside that is appraised as the biggest and the best wine-growing region of western Slovenia. We will visit a wine cellar, have a snack and we’ll taste some wine in one of many wineries. After that we will a walk through the vineyards and visit the Dobrovo Castle. Slow Food dinner and wine tasting at the one of the top class wineries. Accommodation and overnight in a hotel in Goriška Brda.
 

4th day:


After breakfast we will drive past the medieval Karst town of štanjel and to the village Lokve where you will be treated with a typical Slovenian lunch in the local inn. After that we will visit the famous Lipica stud and look around the stables. Our tour will lead us then to the one of excellent wineries including wine tasting and an ethnic Slow Food dinner. Accommodation and overnight in the Karst region.
 

5th day:


After breakfast we will leave for Socerb, a place on the edge of the Karst plateau, where will visit the castle and then continue the journey towards the sea. On our way, we will visit the church in Hrastovlje with the remarkable fresco painting »The Dance of the Dead«. Salt pan lunch will be waiting for you in one of the restaurants on the coast. After that you will check in the hotel in Portorož. The afternoon will be free for leisure or swimming. A Slow Food dinner with emphasis on fish specialities will be served in the top class restaurant.
Overnight in Portorož.
 

6th day:


After breakfast we will first visit the typical medieval seaside town Piran, known as the birthplace of the composer and violinist Giuseppe Tartini and afterwards the the salt pans where salt harvested for more than 400 years. After a drive through Korte to šmarje above Koper, we will visit the excellent wine cellar Santomas for some wine tasting. We will furthermore drive to the authentic little medieval Istrian town Pomjan, where we will do some sightseeing and laterl relax while enjoying the Istrian Slow Food.
Overnight in Portorož.
 

7th day:


After breakfast we will head for Postojna and visit the Postojna Cave, one of the the biggest and most magnificent underground Karst caves in Europe. After a snack in the nearby mill we will continue to Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. Upon arrival we will tour the most beautiful parts of the old medieval town including the most important squares, churches and public buildings. A Slow Food dinner will be served in Ljubljana. Accommodation and overnight in Ljubljana.
 

8th day:
