1st day:


Arrival to Slovenia, bus transfer to Bled, the most prominent Alpine tourist resort of Slovenia. Check-in to the hotel, followed by a short tour of Bled, a pletna boat trip to the island, a visit to the castle and the surroundings of Bled. The Slow Food dinner will be served in one of the best restaurants in this region. Overnight in the hotel.
 

2nd day:


After breakfast bus transfer to Kranjska Gora, an idyllic mountain resort under the Julian Alps followed by a ride over the picturesque mountain pass Vršič to Trenta, one of the most beautiful Alpine valleys in the Julian Alps. A short stop and snack at a typical cheese dairy. We will continue heading toward Soča valley through Bovec to Kobarid including a vists to the World War I. Museum (in 1987 this museum was proclaimed the best European museum). We will end the day with a Slow Food dinner. Accommodation and overnight in Nova Gorica.
 

3rd day:


After breakfast we will be taken to the idyllic Goriška Brda region appraised as the biggest and the best wine-growing region of western Slovenia. In the cellar of one of the top wine producers we will be offered a wine tasting and a snack. We will continue our ride to the medieval Karst town štanjel and make a stop in one of typical wine cellars on the Kras. After tasting the wines of the Kras region, we will head for the famous Lipica stud including a visit to the stables. We will hen continue our trip to the most important Slovenian sea resort Portorož. In one of top class restaurants you will enjoy a superb dinner with emphasis on fish specialities. Accommodation and overnight in Portorož.
 

4th day:


After breakfast there we will visit the medieval coast town Piran known also as a birthplace of the composer and violinist Giuseppe Tartini. Followed by a ride to Postojna and a visit of the Postojna Cave, one of the the biggest and most magnificent underground Karst caves in Europe. After a snack in the nearby mill we will continue to Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. Upon arrival we will tour the most beautiful parts of the old medieval town including the most important squares, churches and public buildings. A Slow Food dinner will be served in Ljubljana. Accommodation in the hotel in Ljubljana.
 

5th day:


After breakfast you will have some free time that you may wish to use for a visit of the market place. Later on, we will take you to Logarska dolina, a splendid Alpine valley situated beneath the peaks of the Kamnik Alps. Check-into the Plesnik Hotel followed by a snack after which you will be free and may wish to engage in some outdoor activities (walks, riding, archery, mountain-biking,…). In the evening, the Slow Food dinner will be served in the top class restaurant in Luče. Overnight in the Plesnik Hotel.
 

6th day:


After breakfast transfer to Koroško and a visit to šentanel, one of the most beautiful villages in Slovenia, where most of the houses still have shingle roofs making the visitor feel as if time has stopped. After tasting the excellent home-made sausages, we will drive along the foothills of Pohorje, through the Drava valley to Maribor, the capital of štajersko. A short sightseeing tour of the old town will end in a typical dinner and wine tasting at one of the many small tourist farms. Accommodation and overnight in Maribor.
 

7th day:


After breakfast we will drive to Olimje and have a look at one of the oldest pharmacies in Europe. You will furthermore visit the health spa Atomske toplice, a factory of chocolate, and for a change, a brewery. After a snack, we will continue our journey towards the wine-growing region Bizeljsko fanous for its light and fresh wines. You will have a snack and try the exquisite sparkling wines produced by the well-known winegrower Istenič. Later on, we will head towards Dolenjsko and visit Kostanjevica and Pleterje. Finally, we will have dinner in a typical Dolenjska vineyard lodge called zidanica. Accommodation and overnight in the castle of Otočec.
 

8th day:
