Goriška Brda & The Kras

1st day:

Arrival to Nova Gorica in the evening, checking into the hotel, Slow Food dinner with emphasis on fish dishes. Overnight in Nova Gorica.

2nd day:

After breakfast we will head for Goriška Brda, an idyllic hilly countryside that is appraised as the biggest and the best wine-growing region of western Slovenia. We will visit a wine cellar, have a snack and we’ll taste some wine in one of many wineries. After that we will a walk through the vineyards and visit the Dobrovo Castle. Slow Food dinner and wine tasting at the one of the top class wineries. Accommodation and overnight in a hotel in Goriška Brda.

3rd day:

After breakfast we will be taken past the medieval Karst town of štanjel and then to the famous Lipica stud where we will visit the stables. After that you will be treated with a typical Slovenian lunch. We’ll continue towards Postojna and we will visit the Postojna Cave, one of the most beautiful and biggest underground karst caves in Europe. Slow Food dinner will be served at the Zemono Mansion in Vipava valley, which is considered to be one of the best restaurants in Slovenia. Accommodation in the hotel at the Karst.

4th day:

After breakfast we will first visit typical Karst villages and then the farm that is famous for the top-quality wines. The tour ends with wine tasting and a light meal there.
