Golf in Bled
Golf & Country Club Bled is the oldest club in Slovenia. The club was inaugurated in 1937. The first course had 9 holes. It was redesigned and expended to 18 holes and in 1991 to 27 holes under the direction of Architect Donald Harradine. The golf course is laid out near the beautiful lake Bled in northern Slovenia only a few miles from Italy and Austria and stands 1664 feet above sea level. It has now 27 holes, pitch and put course a big driving range and a nice clubhouse built in the local style and a new smaller clubhouse on the 9 holes Course. It is probably the best achievement of designer Donald Harradine. On 256 acres basically level land despite the towering majesty of surrounding mountains Harradine has laid out a parkland-style course of considerable charm. The driving area is wide and fair with intelligent use made of the wealth of trees mostly pine trees and willow trees. The bunkers are large and shallow but well placed to catch any errant approach. On the 18 holes course there are no water hazards but you will find 3 small lakes on the 9 holes course. The planes are to add a further nine holes shortly.
The playing season for the golf course runs from middle of March to end of October.
Idyllic surroundings and exceptional land configuration are the main trumps of the golf course, which was designed in seventies by one of the biggest European architect experts, Mr. Donald Harradine. "Here is so beautiful, that the golf course is soon not going to be big enough anymore", he said then and he was right. On delight of the growing number of golfers in Bled, we started to build a second golf course with 18 new holes, nine of which are already finished.
The King´s Golf Course has 18 holes, PAR 72, SSS 73. Course covers an area of 65 hectares (158 acres) and it is 6338 m long. Mr. Donald Harradine designed the golf course.
Nine holes of the second Lake Golf Course have been completed in 1993, tha course has SSS 36 and total length of 3102 m.
The Clubhouse features dressing rooms, a caddie room, golf shop as well as American bar with a restaurant and hotel accommodations.
King’s Clubhouse on golf course is a pearl of rustically architecture. Built in authentic Slovene style, with the interior decorated with murals and plasters made by the famous and recognized painters and sculptors. A conference room for twenty persons is also available in a Clubhouse.
Restaurant with famous cuisine, American bar, pleasant hotel rooms and terrace offer all the comforts needed for undisturbed relaxation or for socializing with friends after tiring, but at the same time relaxing game of golf.

How to arrive to Bled:
BY AIR: from Ljubljana Brnik international airport, located 35 km from Bled , connected by regular bus service (40 minutes drive) or by taxi.
BY CAR: a main road network links Bled to all major Slovenian and other European cities. Nearest border crossing is through Karavanke Tunnel (25km)
BY TRAIN: Lesce-Bled railway station is located 3km from Bled. Accessible from all neighbour countries.
